About Dr. Grand

Dr. Grand joined the Hand & Shoulder Center in 2004. He graduated from the Yale University School of Medicine in 1996. He then successfully completed a Residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, where his training included extensive experience in microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery as well as soft-tissue reconstruction. This was followed by a fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.


Dr. Grand is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with a Certificate in the subspecialty of Surgery of the Hand.

He has been selected by Castle Connolly and Pittsburgh Magazine as a “Top Doctor” in the field of Hand Surgery since 2021.

He has published numerous articles and participates in fellow and resident education at the University of Pittsburgh. He has traveled to LaPaz, Bolivia, and to Kathmandu, Nepal as a visiting reconstructive surgeon with Resurge International.

He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Association for Hand Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society, the American Medical Association, the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis, and the Hypnotherapists Union Local 472.
